A week ago, the UK has become the first country to approve a COVID vaccine.
What does this mean?
It means that within a few months or so, it is very likely that most of the things can go back to normal. This, then, means that you can start marking your calendar for vacations and travelings within a couple of months!
Here are 11 places that you should visit when the pandemic is over. (I excluded places in North America. Of course, there are tons of beautiful places in North America, but because I am from Canada, so I mainly focused on other continents that are further away.)
1. Norfolk Island, Australia 🇦🇺 Oceania
Norfolk Island is an external territory of Australia located in the Pacific Ocean between New Zealand and New Caledonia. The island is about 8 km long and 5 km wide. As one of the most underrated tourist destinations in Australia, Norfolk Island is known for its breathtaking coastline and untouched nature.
Fun Fact: Norfolk Island actually has its own language known as Norf’k or Norfuk, which is the unique local language that fuses a type of 18th-century English and Tahitian.

2. Chile 🇨🇱 South America
Chile is a long, narrow country stretching along South America’s western edge, with more than 6,000km of Pacific Ocean coastline. When I was trying to pick out a city in Chile that one must visit, I could not. I even consulted my friend who is from Chile, he said there is something unique about every places. From the spectacular Torres Del Paine National Park to the impressive stone sculptures known as the Moai to the business and culture capital of Chile, Santiago; there is just something for everyone!
Fun Fact: The Atacama Desert in Chile, is the Driest Place on Earth.
3. Beijing, China 🇨🇳 Asia
Beijing, the capital of China, has a history stretching back three millennia. Combining both modern and traditional architecture, Beijing is one of the oldest cities in the world. Beijing is a place where tourists can explore the Chinese culture thoroughly, from ancient sites such as the Forbidden City and the Great Wall of China to its local cuisines and traditional arts, it is a city worth visiting!
Fun Fact: Beijing is home to seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
4. Prague, Czech Republic 🇨🇿 Europe
Prague is the capital city and largest city in the Czech Republic. It is the 13th largest city in the EU and has served as the capital of the historic region of Bohemia for centuries. Prague is famous for its unique medieval architecture, the historical centre of Prague is inscribed in the World Heritage List. Besides its spectacular medieval architecture, Prague is also a modern and vibrant city full of energy, music, cultural art, fine dining and special events catering to the independent traveller’s thirst for adventure.
Fun Fact: One can go to a beer spa in Prague with unlimited beer.
5. Paris, France 🇫🇷 Europe
When I started drafting this blog, I tried to avoid big modern cities such as London and New York. However, because of the Netflix show, “Emily in Paris,” I cannot resist Paris. It is such a beautiful city.
Paris is the capital city of France and a major European city. Known as the “City of Light” or the “City of Love,” the streets of Paris overflow with culture, art, beauty, and history. Tourism, as the major source of income for Paris, the city captures the hearts of millions every year.
Fun Fact: The Eiffel Tower was supposed to be a temporary installation, intended to stand for 20 years after being built for the 1889 World Fair.
6. Santorini, Greece 🇬🇷 Europe
Santorini is an island in the southern Aegean Sea, ranked the world’s top island by many magazines and travel sites. Its the largest island of a small, circular archipelago, which bears the same name and is the remnant of a volcanic caldera. Wine is a major industry in Santorini because its hot and dry climate is perfect for growing grapes. Make sure you go to wineries and go wine tasting if you go to Santorini.
Fun Fact: There are more churches than houses in Santorini.

7. Iceland 🇮🇸 Europe
Iceland, a Nordic island nation, is defined by its dramatic landscape with volcanoes, geysers, hot springs and lava fields. Iceland is the least densely populated country in Europe, with a pure, unpolluted and truly magical landscape. One of the most popular tourism activities in Iceland is the outdoor hot spring all year long. During winter, you can even marvel at the amazing, undulating green, blue, yellow and pink lights of the aurora in the night sky.
Fun Fact: Iceland was the last place on earth to be settled by humans.
8. Venice, Italy 🇮🇹 Europe
Venice is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. It has no roads, just canals. Venice has been known as “La Dominante,” “La Serenissima,” “Queen of the Adriatic,” “City of Water,” “City of Masks,” “City of Bridges,” “The Floating City,” and “City of Canals.” The lagoon and a part of the city are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Every year, Venice attracts as many as 30 million tourists from all over the world because of the beauty of its setting, the architecture, and artwork.
Fun Fact: Venice is sinking at the rate of 1-2 millimeters a year.

9. Namibia 🇳🇦 Africa
Namibia, a country in southwest Africa, is distinguished by the Namib Desert along its Atlantic Ocean coast. The country is home to diverse wildlife, including a significant cheetah population. Namibia is covered in a large swathe of desert, giving rise to an array of unique plants and animals adapted to the harsh climate, it is home to some of Africa’s most spectacular natural sights.
Fun Fact: Namibia is one of only two countries in the world that has desert elephants!
10. Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 Asia
Sri Lanka is an island country in South Asia, located in the Indian Ocean southwest of the Bay of Bengal and southeast of the Arabian Sea. Sri Lanka has been called “the pearl of the Indian ocean” because of its shape and location. Sri Lanka’s documented history spans 3,000 years, with evidence of prehistoric human settlements dating back at least 125,000 years. It has a rich cultural heritage, with many nature spots and cultural attractions. Despite its small size, Sri Lanka possesses a high level of biodiversity and wildlife resources.
Fun Fact: Tea is Sri Lanka’s largest export, accounting for 12% of its export by-product. It is the fourth largest exporter of tea in the world. If you like tea, you will like Sri Lanka!
11. Cappadocia, Turkey 🇹🇷 Asia/Europe
Cappadocia, a semi-arid region in central Turkey, is known for its distinctive “fairy chimneys,” tall, cone-shaped rock formations clustered in Monks Valley, Göreme and elsewhere. There are lots of fascinating things to see and do in Cappadocia, such as riding hot air balloons. Cappadocia is full of unforgettable adventures!
Fun Fact: Cappadocia’s landscape was formed by volcanic erosion. Thick ash solidified into soft rock, called tuff, and over time the tuff rocks eroded with wind and water, creating the iconic fairy chimneys we see today.
